This EYFS Humpty Dumpty Split Pin Character allows children to develop their fine motor skills. There are two versions, one with the character's features and one without, so that children can be creative and design their own Humpty Dumpty. Through cutting, making holes and putting split pins in the correct places, children will have their own character to retell the nursery rhyme with.

It covers the following objectives for children in reception:

Develop their small motor skills so that they can use a range of tools competently, safely and confidently. Suggested tools: pencils for drawing and writing, paintbrushes, scissors, knives, forks and spoons.

Curriculum Objectives

  • Use a range of small tools, including scissors, paint brushes and cutlery
  • Use and understand recently introduced vocabulary during discussions about stories, non-fiction, rhymes and poems and during role-play
