Get children confident with recognising and describing patterns with this EYFS Patterns Around Us Activity. This activity includes 12 pairs of patterned cards. An adult can cut these cards, shuffle them and place them face-down on a table or on the floor. Children should then be encouraged to pick up two cards at a time to reveal the pattern, describe the pattern, and pair them together if the patterns on each cards match.

This activity is a great opportunity to develop pupils' speech and language skills, whilst encouraging them to recognise simple patterns.
