Practise with scissors in EYFS is important because using scissors helps to develop hand eye co-ordination as well as fine motor skills and it also ensures children have a good understanding of how to use scissors appropriately and safely.

Children can have fun with this Pirates activity by cutting around the pirate items and adding them to the templates to create their own treasure map. There are two different versions. One for children to colour in and an already coloured in version.

The objective is for the children to create their own maps by cutting out the individual features.

Great for fine motor skills and a great introduction to maps.
