An image of the Subitising Cards Resource

Help children to subitise using different themed cards, with our EYFS Subitising Cards resource. This learning activity enables children to subitise how many images they can see in a variety of distinct groups. The resource is designed to be cut into separate cards and used with large or small groups. The practitioner questions children, for example, how many cups, and children respond quickly after subitising the amount. Do not give the children time to count the items. Please be advised that this resource is not designed to support the teaching and learning of addition. However, two groups on the card could be combined if this is appropriate.
