These EYFS Subitising Cards enables children to develop their ability to recognise quantities to 3 without counting. The dots are in various arrangements across the resource to help develop pupils' understanding. The adult should allow children to see the image before turning the card over to encourage children to subitise! Children shout out their answers or whisper to a friend, before the adult turns the card over to count the spots.
Curriculum Objectives
- Have a deep understanding of number to 10, including the composition of each number
- Subitise (recognise quantities without counting) up to 5
- Automatically recall (without reference to rhymes, counting or other aids) number bonds up to 5 (including subtraction facts) and some number bonds to 10, including double facts
