This KS1 What Are the North and South Poles? PPT takes children on a journey to the farthest reaches of our planet: the North and South Poles. Pupils will learn that the North Pole, floating on sheets of ice in the Arctic Ocean, experiences 24 hours of summer sunlight. They will also explore the South Pole in Antarctica, discovering its freezing temperatures and strong winds, which make it one of the most extreme environments on Earth.
Throughout the presentation, pupils will encounter thought-provoking questions, complete engaging tasks and take part in assessment activities designed to check understanding at key points in the lesson.
