This KS1 Reading Skills - We're Going to Find the Monster resource contains a range of questions about the book ‘We're Going to Find the Monster’ by Malorie Blackman. The questions are organised into content domains to allow a focus on one or more specific reading skills. There are also three SATS-style questions to allow your children to get used to seeing questions in this layout and practise the skills needed to complete these types of questions.

This resource has been organised in two different ways to give teachers flexibility with the way the text is covered.

Teaching Approach A: This section contains questions covering the whole text.

Teaching Approach B: Questions in this section are the same as in Teaching Approach A, but are organised into several smaller groups. Each group of questions is focused on a smaller part of the text to allow the text to be covered in sections over time.
