This KS1 Rise and Read Van Gogh resource includes four reading activities focused on the famous artist, Vincent Van Gogh. It is suitable for use in Years 1 and 2 and could be displayed on the whiteboard as early morning work, used in reading lessons or even as a stimulus in assemblies. However you choose to use it, children will not only sharpen their reading skills but also learn more about the world around them.

The pack includes an information text, a diary extract, an image stimulus and a persuasive text. These lead to questions which focus on a variety of reading skills: retrieval, purpose, vocabulary, inference and prediction.
