This KS2 5-Minute Summer Challenges resource is a collection of quick, low-preparation activities designed for use during the final weeks of the summer term. Each challenge can be completed in around five minutes and encourages pupils to think creatively, solve problems, discuss ideas and apply their learning in engaging and purposeful ways.

The pack includes 20 varied tasks covering maths, writing, reasoning, creativity and design, all themed around summer and the end of term. Every challenge includes a built-in stretch activity to ensure appropriate challenge for all learners, while also supporting deeper thinking and extended responses where needed.

A bank of optional follow-up activities allows teachers to extend tasks into longer lessons, group discussions or project work if desired. The resource is highly flexible and can be used as a lesson starter, transition activity, early finisher task or end-of-term filler, making it ideal for busy classrooms in the final weeks of school.
