This KS2 Goodnight Mister Tom Chapter 18 Whole Class Guided Reading Pack includes differentiated questions and activities based on chapter eighteen of the popular novel by Michelle Magorian.
In this chapter, Will is struggling with nightmares but Tom is there for him each time he wakes up to help him calm down and go back to sleep again. Eventually, Tom allows Zach up to go and see Will and catch him up on all the goings on in the village. Zach mentions that Mrs Hartridge has had her baby and that there is to be a new maternity hospital. When Will questions this, Zach explains how men and women have babies which causes great confusion to Will, who was told they were a gift from Jesus. Again, Tom comes to the rescue and calms Will down. A month passes and Will has readjusted to life in Little Weirwold again. He goes to visit Mrs Hartridge and meets her baby, Peggy, and sees how Mrs Hartridge feeds her. Will realises he could not help his baby sister Trudy and finally comes to terms with her death.
This pack contains colour-coded questions to ensure clear differentiated, as well as differentiated challenge tasks focussed upon punctuation, adverbs and spelling.
