Our KS2 Pride Assembly resource has been designed to help children learn about Pride celebrations and the key points in the history of the LGBTQ+ community. Pupils will gain a deeper insight into the progress made by the LGBTQ+ community and why Pride is celebrated across the world.

This PowerPoint would be suitable for whole KS2 assemblies or as part of a class assembly. This resource includes opportunities for further discussion to help children better understand the LGBTQ+ community.

We have included a range of vocabulary in this PowerPoint, which can be amended or updated to work best for your school. More vocabulary that could be added to the PowerPoint includes:
Ally: A straight and/or cisgender person who supports LGBTQ+ people.
Questioning: The process of exploring your own sexual orientation and/or gender identity.
Sexuality: A person’s attraction to other people.
Gender Identity: A person’s sense of their own gender.
