This Key Stage 2 Rise and Read Rosh Hashanah resource includes different activities to develop children's reading skills. This pack focuses on the Jewish New Year festival of Rosh Hashanah and is suitable for use in Years 3, 4, 5 or 6. They can be used within reading sessions, RE lessons or as stimulus for assemblies... whatever suits you and your children as they learn more about the world around them!

In this resource, there are four different texts to stimulate different styles of reading: an explanation about the festival, a short story about a child learning about the festival, an image and a poem. Each text type has questions linked to prediction, inference, summary, retrieval, vocabulary or effect. Each text is short and easily-digestible to allow quick and simple reading activities!

There's no printing involved as they're designed to be displayed on the whiteboard and are ideal for when pupils are entering the classroom or at the start of a lesson as they are short, focused tasks.
