This KS2 Rise and Read Windrush resource includes four reading activities about the Windrush generation. It is suitable for use in Years 3 to 6 and can be displayed on the whiteboard as early morning work, used in guided reading sessions or shared during assemblies. However you choose to use it, children will develop their reading skills while learning more about this important group of people.

The pack includes two information texts, a letter and an image. These are followed by questions that focus on a range of reading skills: retrieval, purpose, vocabulary, inference and prediction. There is also an assessment-style question which focuses on identifying information in a text.

This resource does not require any printing, as it has been specially designed to be displayed on the whiteboard.
