This resource is designed to introduce cave paintings to children who are provided with an explanation of what they were, how they were made and why they were used. This is followed by an activity ideal for independent or paired work in which children use their inference skills to work out what the images are showing.

Children are also given the opportunity to create their own cave paintings which would make a suitable activity for an art lesson or even as a task to be completed at home. The choice is all yours!
