This worksheet provides an opportunity for children to visualise the setting described in The Explorer. It is a chance to focus on the author's choice of words and how this affects the reader. Children consider what they know for certain but also what they may have imagined. This can lead to discussions about which part of the text has led them to include these elements. Challenge children to think about what they might have written if they had composed the description.
