After all the children’s hard work drawing inspiration from The Explorer, it is now time for them to plan an amazing piece of writing based on the book.

First, we need to take some time to pull together what they have learnt and allow them the time to practise writing some high-quality sentences to include. There are key areas of focus provided to help guide pupils as well as a word bank to promote a rich vocabulary.

There is a version of these worksheets included in our teaching PowerPoint. These could be displayed on the working wall and added to over the course of the lessons.
