Worksheet

Develop children's understanding of place value within 20 by using this Year 1 Compare Numbers to 20 Varied Fluency worksheet. Children will compare numbers using the inequality symbols and comparison language. They will select a representation to complete each statement.

Numbers are represented using numerals, words and pictorial representations. There are six statements to complete!

Teaching note: Inequality symbols are included in this step as they were introduced in Au Block 1 Step 12. Although this is a Y2 objective, they can be used as a visual aid to improve fluency as children continue comparing numbers and amounts.

Curriculum Objectives

  • Identify and represent numbers using objects and pictorial representations including the number line, and use the language of: equal to, more than, less than (fewer), most, least
