Challenge pupils' understanding of naming 2D shapes with this Year 1 Recognise and Name 2D Shapes Reasoning and Problem Solving resource.
With six questions supported with visual representations, complete with answers for immediate feedback, this resource is ideal for use in class or at home and is designed to give pupils the chance to apply what they have learned about properties of 2D shapes, ultimately deepening their understanding and building confidence.
To meet the needs of your class, this resource is differentiated to three levels of challenge:
Developing: 2D shapes include circles, triangles, squares and rectangles presented in the same orientation. Perspective lines used on all 3D shapes.
Expected: 2D shapes include circles, triangles, squares and rectangles presented in different orientations with some perspective lines used on 3D shapes.
Greater Depth: 2D shapes include circles, triangles, squares and rectangles. All shapes presented in different orientations with no perspective lines visible on 3D shapes, with some use of real life objects.
