This Year 1 Recognise and Name 3D Shapes Discussion Problem has been designed to provide children with extra challenge to deepen their understanding of 3D shapes. There are two different activities included. One which is open-ended and encourages children to think about the different shapes in their environment. The second is a matching game that can be played in pairs to demonstrate that children recognise the names of shapes.

These resources are ideal for further development and often promote discussion. An example answer is provided to prompt children's discussion and allow them to identify other possible solutions.
