In this writing task children are asked to use contractions within sentences. Children are provided with a word bank to create contractions from.
This Year 2 Using Simple Contractions Application worksheet would be a great assessment tool as children use what they know about contractions and use them within sentences. This activity can be completed independently but could also be used as a discussion point for small groups or interventions.
The worksheet comes with a model answer which can be shared with the children as a good example or to aid your marking.
