This Year 2 Using Simple Contractions Application and Reasoning worksheet provides children with the opportunity to apply their knowledge and understanding of contractions to a range of different questions. Children must rewrite a sentence to include a contraction, use the word bank to write a contraction and add it in to a sentence and decide whether a contraction can be used in a given sentence.

This worksheet is differentiated three ways to meet the needs of all your learners and provides one reasoning and two application questions to work through. It can be completed independently, in pairs or with adult support. A useful answer sheet is provided to make marking quick and easy.
