Develop children's understanding of the importance of exercise further with this Year 2 Why is Exercise Important? Investigation Lesson.

Pupils will begin by discussing how exercise keeps our bodies healthy and strong. They will participate in an investigation where they can perform a series of exercises, such as star jumps or running in place, to observe the effects on their heart rate. Pupils will learn how to take their pulse by counting the beats in their wrist or neck.

This hands-on investigation will help them understand how exercise affects heart rate and reinforces the concept that regular activity is essential to keep us healthy.
