Allow children to explore their multiplication knowledge with this Year 3 Multiply a 2-Digit Number by a 1-Digit Number with Exchange resource. We've created two open-ended activities for your class to consolidate their learning in a collaborative way. Children will put their reasoning and problem solving skills into practise with both activities.

This is an ideal activity to use in small groups or pairs. It encourages mathematical thinking and discussions in the classroom. Alternatively, you could use this to challenge children further in a small intervention group, or send this home as a homework activity. A fully modelled answer is included for children to compare their answers to.
