Teaching the direct speech has never been easier than with this Year 3 Recognising Direct Speech Teaching PPT. Beginning with an explanation of what direct speech is and how we can identify it in writing by looking at the punctuation of the sentence. The teaching PowerPoint then moves on to teaching how we use reporting clauses to tell us who said it and how it was said.

With a sequenced teaching structure, children are shown modelled examples of questions which link directly to the teaching. The answers are also provided for you to discuss with your pupils.

Ideal for use with your whole class, this PPT can help you to structure the teaching of direct speech.
