Allow children to develop and consolidate their understanding of the 3, 4 and 8 times tables and related facts with this Year 3 Related Calculations resource. We've created two reasoning style questions and one problem style question, with two examples of each question type, for children to put their knowledge to the test. This resource has been differentiated three ways to support all learners. See below for a brief outline of how our differentiation challenges children of all abilities:
Developing: Questions include the use of multiples of 2, 4, 5 and 8 times by a multiple of 10. Pictorial representations and a complete related know fact used for support.
Expected: Questions include the use of multiples of 2, 3, 4, 5 and 8 times by a multiple of 10. Some pictorial representations used.
Greater Depth: Questions include the use of multiples of 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 8 times by a multiple of 10 or 100.
Use this resource in class as part of children's independent learning time following a set of varied fluency style questions. Alternatively, you could incorporate this into an intervention programme with a small, adult-led group to further develop children's skills or offer more support where needed. A fully explained answer sheet is provided to aid marking too.
