This Year 4 Consolidating Apostrophes Application resource will give children a chance to practise writing their own sentences containing apostrophes.

To get them started, a picture prompt with a pirate theme is provided to spark their imaginations. After matching each pirate to an object, they then write a short story describing the pirates' adventures. Challenge them to include an apostrophe for possession or contraction in each sentence.

An answer sheet is provided for you to show your class an example of what a good response might look like.
