Use this Year 4 Perimeter on a Grid Reasoning and Problem Solving resource to help children become confident when solving problems relating to the perimeter of rectilinear shapes. There are two problem solving questions which require children to draw rectilinear shapes and so some extra squared paper and rulers will be useful in the lesson. The third question is a reasoning problem which will give them more practice working out the perimeter by counting squares.
Each of the three questions has two similar versions to promote confidence and an answer sheet is provided for busy teachers.
A varied fluency resource is also available for this small step.
