This engaging Year 4 'Were' or 'Was' and 'Did' or 'Done' Application activity allows your children to put into practice what they have learnt about standard English. This activity provides a visual stimulus and asks pupils to write sentences in standard English, using the past tense verbs were, was, did and done.

Children can complete this activity independently, in pairs or with adult support. We have also provided a modelled answer for you to either share with your class as a good example or to give you inspiration for your marking.
