This Year 5 Addition and Subtraction Mistake Investigators includes a range of reasoning and problem solving style questions that are similar to questions children could encounter in assessments. The questions are designed to be answered in groups to promote discussion and development of reasoning skills.

The questions cover four addition and subtraction objectives: add and subtract numbers mentally with increasingly large numbers; add and subtract whole numbers with more than 4 digits, including using formal written methods (columnar addition and subtraction); use rounding to check answers to calculations and determine, in the context of a problem, levels of accuracy, and; solve addition and subtraction multi-step problems in contexts, deciding which operations and methods to use and why. Sixteen questions are included across four sheets of A4, with one sheet per objective.

If you're looking for something that will help your children develop their skills and help them to become more investigative learners, you're in the right place.
