Subtract from a Mixed Number Prior Learning

Worksheet
An image of the Subtract from a Mixed Number Prior Learning Resource

This Year 5 Subtract from a Mixed Number Prior Learning resource, gives children the opportunity to consolidate their improper fractions and mixed number conversion knowledge, before moving onto the main teaching in this lesson. Our Prior Learning resource draws on key skills from objectives covered earlier on in year 5 in order to prepare children for the new skill of subtracting from a mixed number. The worksheet covers varied fluency, reasoning and problem-solving questions in a ready-to-complete format.

A great resource to use at the start of your lesson to get children in the fraction's mindset. Alternatively, this could be used in an intervention session to offer further support, or it could be given as a homework resource; the choice is yours! Marking will be a doddle as we've included an answer sheet too.
