Use this Year 5 Understand Percentages Reasoning and Problem Solving resource to give your pupils an opportunity to apply their understanding of percentages to problem solving. There are two reasoning questions which ask them to check statements about percentages to decide whether these are correct. They then use mathematical language to explain their ideas. The third question is a problem solving question which requires them to understand that percentage means 'out of 100' in order to find a solution.

Each question has two similar parts to promote fluency and an answer sheet is included to help busy teachers and pupils who are marking their own work.
