Support understanding of how to calculate angles in quadrilaterals by using this resource.

This Year 6 Calculate Angles in Quadrilaterals Varied Fluency worksheet allows children to apply the fact that angles in a quadrilateral total 360 degrees to investigate different quadrilaterals. They will explore how all quadrilaterals are formed by two triangles and link this to there being 360 degrees due to one triangle having 180 degrees, then calculate missing angles in a range of quadrilaterals. All answers are also included so that marking is as easy as possible!

A reasoning and problem solving resource and fluency matrix are also available for this small step.

Curriculum Objectives

  • Compare and classify geometric shapes based on their properties and sizes
  • Find unknown angles in any triangles, quadrilaterals, and regular polygons
