Looking for a project for your Year 6 class to get there teeth stuck into? Then this is the ideal resource for you!

Children are asked to research, design, cost out, schedule and promote the building of a community garden for their local area. First, they decide on a suitable location, then research what they would like to include in it (plants, benches, ornaments etc) and how much it would all cost. Finally, they create a detailed design of their community garden, schedule how long it will take to do all the work and make an advert to promote it. Of course, they have to make sure that their design is accessible for all users of the garden. They can also include special features for the local wildlife too. There's plenty for your class to think about and plan.
