Deepen understanding of how to solve problems using coordinates by using this resource.

This Year 6 Coordinate Problems Reasoning and Problem Solving worksheet builds on prior learning about the four quadrants to enable children to solve problems involving positions within a full coordinate grid where numbers are not given on the x-axis or the y-axis. Children will use given information to explain if the coordinates of specific points have been correctly found, identify possible coordinates that can make shapes across all four quadrants and explain an error when handling coordinates on a straight line. All answers are also included so that marking is as easy as possible!

A varied fluency resource is also available for this small step.

Curriculum Objectives

  • Describe positions on the full coordinate grid (all four quadrants)
