Consolidate understanding of how to use nets to make 3D shapes by using this resource.

This Year 6 Nets of 3D Shapes Varied Fluency worksheet helps children understand how 2D shapes make up the faces of 3D shapes, allowing them to recognise and build simple 3D shapes through nets. Across six questions that gradually increase in challenge, children will apply this learning to different situations such as identifying the correct net for a given shape, matching nets to the names of the 3D shapes they make and finding a net that will not make a cube from a set. All answers are also included so that marking is as easy as possible!

A varied fluency worksheet and reasoning and problem solving resource are also available for this small step.

Note: this resource uses 3 sides of A4 (1 sheet for questions A1, A2 and B1; 1 sheet for questions B2, C1 and C2; 1 sheet for all answers).

Curriculum Objectives
