This Year 6 Rise and Read Set 4 resource includes different activities to be used across a week to develop children's reading skills.

In this resource, there are five different texts to stimulate different styles of reading: a non-fiction report, an extract from a narrative, an image, a quote and an extract from a piece of historical fiction. Each text type has questions linked to retrieval, purpose, vocabulary, inference, prediction, effect or summarising, with the final text using a SATs style question to increase familiarity. Each text is short and easily-digestible to allow quick and simple reading activities!

There's no printing involved as they're designed to be displayed on the whiteboard and are ideal for when pupils are entering the classroom or at the start of a lesson as they are short and focused tasks.
