Support understanding of how to translate shapes with coordinates by using this resource.
This Year 6 Translations with Coordinates Varied Fluency worksheet builds on prior learning about coordinates in the four quadrants to enable children to translate shapes across all four quadrants. Beginning with translating single points to build confidence, they will initially describe translations of shapes, then draw shapes to match a given translation and write the coordinates of the translated shape. Finally, they will translate a shape across quadrants without gridlines to explore the effect of translation on the coordinates. All answers are also included so that marking is as easy as possible!
A reasoning and problem solving resource and fluency matrix are also available for this small step.
