This KS1 The Tin Forest Character Profile activity provides children with the opportunity to explore the character of the old man from the story 'The Tin Forest' by Helen Ward. We've included writing prompts to encourage children to use descriptive language whilst reflecting on the story. This pack also includes modelled answers.

National Curriculum Objectives

English Year 1: Understand both the books they can already read accurately and fluently and those that they listen to by drawing on what they already know or on background information and vocabulary provided by the teacher; discussing the significance of the title and events; making inferences on the basis of what is being said and done; and predicting what might happen on the basis of what has been read so far.
