This pack includes enhancements to be used in all the following areas:
ELG 11: Children count reliably with numbers from 1 to 20, place them in order and say which number is one more or one less than a given number. Using quantities and objects, they add and subtract two single digit numbers and count on or back to find the answer. They solve problems, including doubling, halving and sharing.
ELG 12: Children use everyday language to talk about size, weight, capacity, position, distance time and money to compare quantities and objects and to solve problems. They recognise, create and describe patterns. They explore characteristics of everyday objects and shapes and use mathematical language to describe them.
About this resource
This pack consists of a ‘Christmas’ themed resource for a number of EYFS Development Matters Statements that can be used one to one with your children or in small groups. To accompany the resources, included is an observation sheet that indicates the different Development Matters Statements that are covered by the different resources and opportunity to add detail of a learners interaction. As well as this, included is a suggested questions page, this highlights conversation starters to be discussed with the children.
