Goodnight Mister Tom Chapter 17 Comprehension

ThisGoodnight Mister Tom Chapter 17 Comprehension for Whole Class Guided Reading includes differentiated questions and activities based on chapter seventeen of the popular novel by Michelle Magorian. We recommend using this novel with Year 5 & Year 6. In this chapter, Tom and the warden rescues Will from the alcove but Will has been there a long time and is cold and stiff. They manage to move him out of the alcove and he is taken to the hospital in an ambulance. Tom and the warden manage to get the baby from Will and realise she has died a little while ago. Will does not know and they don't tell him. When they get there, Will is taken away and Tom is not allowed to go with him. Tom helps the hospital with the casualties throughout the night and the following day he is allowed to see Will. He is told that Will will be going to a children's home to get better but Tom wants to take him back home so he kidnaps him. They make the long journey home with Sammy. When they finally get back to Little Weirwold, Tom takes Will to the Littles' cottage and Zach and the Littles agree that Tom did the right thing by kidnapping him.
