Greater Depth Questions to support identifying word families. Language used may be unfamiliar and children may need to use a dictionary to check the meaning of some words.
Application and Reasoning
Questions 1, 4 and 7 (Application)
Developing Identify the root word from a word family where no change to the root word is required, and then use the root word correctly within a sentence.
Expected Identify the root word from a word family and then use the root word correctly within a sentence.
Greater Depth Choose a root word that combines with the prefixes and suffixes provided. Use each new word in a sentence.
