Where does our food come from resource is based on information derived from the British Nutrition Foundation in June 2017. It tells us that a shocking number of children do not know where their food or drinks come from. This resource is differentiated three ways for Year 1/Year 2, Year 3/Year 4 and Year 5/Year 6 and includes a text followed by 4 differentiated challenge activities.

What's included in the pack?

This pack includes:

• KS1 and KS2 Comprehension Where Does Our Food Come From Resource teacher version with answers (three differentiated versions - Year 1 and Year 2, Year 3 and Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6).

National Curriculum Objectives

English Year 1: Understand both the books they can already read accurately and fluently and those they listen to by making inferences on the basis of what is being said and done

English Year 2: Understand both the books that they can already read accurately and fluently and those that they listen to by answering and asking questions

English Year 3 & Year 4: Retrieve and record information from fiction and non-fiction

English Year 5 & Year 6: Retrieve, record and present information from non-fiction

Design Technology KS1: Understand where food comes from

Design Technology KS2: Understand seasonality, and know where and how a variety of ingredients are grown, reared, caught and processed

Differentiation:

Section A Tick the correct answer from multiple choices.
Section B Determine whether the statement is true or false.
Section C Fill in the missing word from each statement.
Section D Answer the question about the text.
