About this Resource

Two-dice addition: Children to roll two dice and add together the numbers rolled to find the total. Children to use the key to find the number and identify which element of the picture to draw. If they roll the same number twice, the children should roll again to generate a different number. The aim is to finish their picture in as few rolls as possible.

Three-dice addition: Children to roll two dice and add together the numbers rolled to find the total. Children to use the key to find the number and identify which element of the picture to draw. If their number is not on the key, children should roll again to generate a different total. If they generate the same total twice, the children should roll again to generate a different total. The aim is to finish their picture in as few rolls as possible.

Cooperative play: Children are encouraged to play this game with a friend or in a group. Each child will have a sheet, take it turns to roll the dice and aim to complete their picture first. This resource could also be used as an intervention to support basic number recognition and addition skills.
