This resource has been designed for pupils to practise Christmas and number vocabulary in their target language. It provides pupils with the opportunity to broaden their use of language by incorporating language linked to playing games. Pupils can work in pairs to play a game of dominoes or work in a larger group and use the dominoes as loop cards. Pupils can also work in pairs or small groups to play the version of Snakes and Ladders using their knowledge of number vocabulary.

Pupils are to be encouraged to use the target language as much as possible and make links to other languages they know. Further teaching points include discussion about the use of le, la and les, and patterns in the pronunciation of French words.
