What’s included in the Year 1 Dates Homework resource and why is it useful?

Year 1 Dates Homework is a set of worksheets to consolidate this step after it has been taught, at home or in class. Each set has been carefully designed to help you meet each child where they are at to ensure progress for every child, not just the average child. The content includes 3 levelled worksheets and a full answer sheet, covering using yesterday, today and tomorrow, ordering the days and months, and reading a calendar.

Developing

• Q1 completing a table with the day that comes after given days of the week.
• Q2 completing the months of the year in order. Given two months, complete the third consecutive month. Initial letter for each month provided.
• Q3 using a calendar, working out possible dates for an event given two clues.

Expected

• Q4 completing a table with the days that come before and after given days of the week, using the terms ‘yesterday’ and ‘tomorrow’.
• Q5 completing the months of the year in order. Given one month, complete the next two consecutive months. Initial letter of each month provided.
• Q6 using a calendar, working out possible dates for an event given three clues.

Greater Depth

• Q7 completing a table with the days that come before and after given days, using the terms ‘yesterday’, ‘today’ and ‘tomorrow.’ For example, given that yesterday was Friday, what day is it today and what day will it be tomorrow?
• Q8 completing the months of the year in order. Initial letter of each month provided.
• Q9 using a calendar, working out possible dates for an event given four clues.
