After all the children’s hard work drawing inspiration from the book, Beegu, it is now time for them to produce an amazing piece of writing. First, we need to take some time to pull together what they have learnt and allow them the time to practise writing some inspiring sentences to include in their writing. Key areas of focus are provided to help guide pupils in their planning as well as a word bank to promote a rich vocabulary.

There is a version of these worksheets included in our teaching PowerPoint. This could be displayed on the working wall and added to over the course of the lessons in this unit.

The teaching PowerPoint for this writing unit also provides a blank writing frame for you to model writing techniques and demonstrate what a writer’s thought process might be. It could be where you do a shared piece of writing to guide and inspire your writers.
