This KS1 Rise and Read resource includes four reading activities all about the motorsport Formula 1. It is suitable for use in Years 1 and 2 and could be displayed on the whiteboard as early morning work, used in reading sessions or even as a fun stimulus in assemblies. However you choose to use it, children will not only sharpen their reading skills but also learn more about the dangerous sport.

The pack includes an information text, a poem, a fact file and an image. These lead to questions which focus on a variety of reading skills: retrieval, purpose, vocabulary, inference and prediction. There is also an assessment-style question that encourages children to identify true and false statements.

This resource does not require any printing, as it has been specially designed to be displayed on the whiteboard.
