This KS1 Rise and Read Holi resource includes four reading activities focused on the Hindu celebration of spring and new life - Holi. It is suitable for use in Years 1 and 2 and could be displayed on the whiteboard as early morning work, used in reading lessons or even as a stimulus in assemblies. However you choose to use it, children will not only sharpen their reading skills but also learn more about the world around them.

The pack includes two information texts, an image and a diary entry. These lead to questions that focus on a variety of reading skills: retrieval, purpose, vocabulary, inference and prediction. The resource then finishes with an assessment-style question.

This resource does not require any printing, as it has been specially designed to be displayed on the whiteboard.
