If you're wanting a quick lesson fix,

That'll teach your class poetry tricks,

Don't stutter or pause;

Just grab this resource,

And they'll soon write their own limericks!

These KS2 Limericks teaching slides were designed for National Poetry Day but can be used all year round. The slide show introduces children to limericks, breaks down and explains the rhythm and rhyme scheme, then slowly builds up to them writing their own complete poems! It's a fun and visually-engaging way to encourage enjoyment and creation of these witty little verses!
