This KS2 Rise and Read Al-Mawlid Al-Nabawi resource includes four reading activities about this important Muslim festival. It is suitable for use in Years 3 to 6 and can be displayed on the whiteboard as early morning work, used in guided reading sessions or shared during assemblies. However you choose to use it, children will develop their reading skills while learning more about the world around them.

The pack includes an information text, a diary, an image and a recipe. These are followed by questions that focus on a range of reading skills: retrieval, purpose, vocabulary, inference and prediction. There is also an assessment-style question which focuses on sequencing.
